The so-called single crowns, or simply caps belong in this category, which are made of various materials and are placed over a grinded tooth in order to cover and protect it. Many crowns placed side by side form a “bridge” in which either natural or artificial supports (e.g., implant) are used.

All-ceramic crowns - bridges

The all-ceramic crowns are new-type caps, consisting of porcelain only (inside and outside of the cap). They are very durable and therefore there is no need for any metal inside of the crown. The naturalness and aesthetics in these restorations are impressive. They are usually used on the front teeth, for a better aesthetic effect.
